The Luxurious and Affordable Alternative to Traditional Private Air Transportation.

Pilot Transition Training

We train our clients to the highest standards of safety, skill, and proficiency. We do this by maintaining the highest training standards and keeping current with the evolving FAA Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) Training syllabus and to Cirrus Design Corporations SR-series pilot transition training standards. Only a PlaneSmart! "approved pilot" is authorized to operate any program aircraft. All "approved pilots" must complete the PlaneSmart! SR-series transition course, and agree to PlaneSmart!'s program operational guidelines.

Pilot Minimum: SR22 owner-pilots are required to have a Private Pilot's License and an Instrument Rating. Once you join the PlaneSmart! program, you will train with a PlaneSmart! instructor to the highest standards of safety and proficiency. PlaneSmart! instructors train to both the FAA Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) Training syllabus and to Cirrus Design Corporations SR-series pilot transition training standards.

PlaneSmart! provides the initial transition course. However, as an alternative, owners have the option of attending the Cirrus factory training program at their own expense. PlaneSmart! can acquire CSIP Instructor pilots for pilot proficiency training during the remainder of the term with the owner responsible for hourly flight fees and Instructor compensation during any proficiency training flights - however all proficiency training hours are not deducted from the owner-pilots annual allocated hours. Owner-pilots are responsible for all costs associated in the pursuit of "additional airman ratings". Proficiency training flight-hours are defined as those hours required to meet FAR 61.56 (Flight-Review) and 61.57 (Recent Flight Experience). Owners must maintain a current FAA medical, and must maintain all minimum FAA pilot proficiency requirements for VFR and IFR operations.

PlaneSmart! does provide highly-trained, highly-experienced professional Instructor pilots to all Cirrus pilots that require training. Whether you are in a PlaneSmart! membership program, or want the best training for your personal aircraft, PlaneSmart! can get your needs met.  We will train you in your own Cirrus, or you can rent an SR20 from PlaneSmart!
