Tyler came to the PlaneSmart! team as a full time pilot and manager of the day to day maintenance tracking in late 2009.  As the company grew, Tyler was tasked with managing the daily operations of the aircraft fleet.  When PlaneSmart! decided in early 2012 to expand it's Austin location, Tyler was relocated to the area and promoted to Regional Operations Manager.  At the age of 15, Tyler began pursuing his dream of flying and later graduated from the American Flyers Professional Pilot Program.  Currently Tyler is rated as a CFI, CFII, MEI.  Additionally, Tyler is a Platinum CSIP (Cirrus Standarized Instructor Pilot), Piper Meridian, and Pilatus PC12-NG qualified pilot.  With over 4000 hours of total flight experience, 2000+ hours have been logged in Cirrus airplanes.  Tyler's experience helps to enhance the level of commitment that PlaneSmart! has to providing our pilot and non-pilot clients with a first class solution in their training and transportation needs.

Jeremiah Freidel
Pilot/Fleet Maint.

Jeremiah is a Michigan Man in Texas.  He originally took interest in flying when he was fourteen and has been on both sides of the aviation industry.  Jeremiah is not only an accomplished CFI but also a certified A&P mechanic.  He took a leap of faith two years ago and moved to Texas in pursuit of a new mechanic job at the McKinney airport that also promised valueable flight time.  After six months of hard work turning wrenches, lack of company growth and little flight time meant that it was time to move on.  Luckily, opportunities were available just up the road in Addison and he quickly obtained his CFI ratings at American Flyers.  When Jeremiah first joined the PlaneSmart! team, his duties were assisting our Director of Maintenance as well as keeping the airplanes in tip-top shape.  Jeremiah is now instructing and offering pilot services in the SR20/22 as well as fleet management for the Addison market.  We are happy to have his always smiling face with us!

Justin Coker
Pilot/Training Manager

Justin has always wanted to be in aviation.  After high school graduation, he and his future father-in-law took a brief flight in a Piper Cherokee 235 and Justin was hooked.  Justin knew he could accomplish his goal of an aviation career if he just stuck to the dream and saved enough money.  A few years later, Justin started taking lessons at U.S. Aviation.  His instructor Bryan turned out to be his greatest mentor in aviation and to this day he still models himself after Bryan.  After receiving his commercial certificate, Justin left aviation for a few years and he finally decided to obtain his CFI certificates so he could start working at American Flyers.  Justin has instructed many students and devoted many hours to perfecting his teaching skill.  PlaneSmart! is excited to have Justin on the flight team and we know his abilities will be put to good use!

Bret Lawson
Charter Pilot

Bret joined PlaneSmart! in May 2012 as a Charter Pilot.  He graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a BS in Elementary Education.  After moving  to Texas, Bret taught fourth grade for four years before following his aviation dreams.  In 2008 he earned his pilot license, including his CFI and CFII, and began instructing shortly after.  Nearly 1300 of Bret's 1500+ hours are dual given in various types of aircraft.  Bret enjoys everything about the aviation industry and is looking forward to sharing it with his son, Cooper Jet.

Stephanie Phillips
Manager of Customer Service

Stephanie's passion for aviation began in 2001 when she became a Flight Attendant for Southwest Airlines.  In 2007, after six years of Safety Briefings and 10,000+ bags of peanuts served, she joined the General Aviation Community supporting aircraft sales for Diamond and Mooney aircraft.  Stephanie joined the PlaneSmart! family in 2009 as the Director of Client Services.  Her primary focus was scheduling airplanes, accommodating customer travel requests, and providing safe and efficient service to our customers.  After 3 years of excellence and commitment to PlaneSmart! and our clients, Stephanie was launched into her new role as Manager.  Now her focus is on aircraft fleet management and general operations at each of the PlaneSmart! base locations.  With over 10 years of aviation experience, Stephanie continues to hold safety and customer satisfaction as her top priority.
