Michael BroslerPresident & CEO
Michael is responsible for setting strategic directions and managing the growth of PlaneSmart! Aviation. He is committed to creating an unparalleled experience for all PlaneSmart! clients by ensuring an all-inclusive quality program with a full suite of options to meet the needs of its customers. Prior to taking an ownership position at PlaneSmart!, Michael spent 16 years in the telecommunication industry where he held senior positions in various financial, marketing, operational and regulatory organizations. Michael also founded and developed a film production and marketing business focused on documentary style filmmaking, and commercial advertising. Michael holds an MBA from the University of California, and has been involved in aviation as an aircraft owner and instrument rated pilot for over 30 years.

Shelley HedrickDirector of Aircraft Acquisitions and Customer Relationships
Shelley Hedrick is the Director of Aircraft Acquisitions and Customer Relationships for PlaneSmart Aviation. Ms. Hedrick has 18 years of experience in business aviation. She is also the founder and President of JetSeat, LLC, a business aviation consulting firm. She served as the Director of Charter Sales & Owner Services for Executive Flight Services, Director of Charter Sales & Marketing for Million Air Dallas, Director of Operations & Marketing for Perfect Jet Travel, and Manager of Sales for Bombardier Flexjet. Ms. Hedrick is the founder, Chairperson and President of Women in Aviation - North Texas Chapter, a domestic non-profit organization. Ms. Hedrick also served as a volunteer flight coordinator for Corporate Aviation Responding in Emergencies (C.A.R.E.) aiding in the Haitian earthquake crisis relief coordinating and scheduling donated business jets transporting medical personnel, injured patients, newly adopted children and missionaries for which she was a co-recipient of 2010 NBAA’s Al Ueltschi Award for Humanitarian Leadership. Ms. Hedrick holds a Bachelor of Journalism in Advertising from the University of Nebraska.
Jim OwensChief Pilot
Jim Is responsible for implementing safety policies, developing and maintaining flight training curriculum, and standardizing procedures for PlaneSmart pilots and customers. He is also the managing supervisor for part 91 staff and contract pilots.
Mr. Owens is an Airline Transport rated pilot, Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument Instructor, and Multi-Engine Instructor with 4000+ hours of his 10000+ total time logged as dual given. Jim has type ratings in the Eclipse 500, Citation 550 and 560 Business Jets, Beechcraft Premier 1A RA 390, and is factory trained in the Pilatus PC-12 and Piper Meridian PA-46. Mr. Owens is a Gold Seal Instructor and a Platinum Certified Cirrus Instructor. Being an established fixed wing pilot, Jim has recently broke ranks to obtain his Rotorcraft license. With a private license in hand, he is now working toward a commercial rating in Helicopters. Jim graduated from Ari Ben Aviators Professional Pilot School in Port St. Lucie Florida.
James ElginDirector of Market Development
James is responsible for managing existing marketing operations as well as evaluating and executing on business expansion plans and strategic marketing initiatives. He is dedicated to maintain and create unequalled customer value, build the PlaneSmart! respected brand and provide best in class customer experience. Prior to taking the position at PlaneSmart!, James spent most of his career in the corporate world at AT&T where he held leadership positions in finance, marketing, product strategy and regulatory. He has a long standing interest in aviation and plans to complete his pilot training this year. James holds a BS in Engineering and a MBA with concentration in Marketing and Finance.
Mr. Gary HoglandController
Gary is responsible for supervising and conducting all account functions, ensure the integrity of the Finical Statements and analysis, Forecast, Budgets, Accounts Receivable and collections, Accounts Payable, Manage fixed asset accounting, Manage cash and bank reconciliations, Liaison with tax accountants and Payroll. Gary comes to PlaneSmart with over 20 years of experience as a controller within a variety of industries. Gary holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Alabama. He also has a family history in aviation.
Brian StrakaRegional Sales Manager
Brian’s original roots stem from the West Coast but he ventured out to New Hampshire to complete an education in aviation. Brian eventually made his way to Texas and has called the Dallas area his home for more than 15 years with his wife and two kids. His love for aviation began long ago and he has enjoyed the journey over the years as either a weekend flyer, instructor, or regional airline pilot. Ultimately his passion for planes and helping people attain their goals has lead him to PlaneSmart! Aviation where he is focusing his talent towards delivering top-rated customer services and helping clients find a solution to their flying needs.
Bret LawsonCharter Pilot
Bret is a charter pilot focusing on flight operations for PlaneSmart! Charter. He is CFI, CFII, and MEI rated, and is the lead pilot in the Piaggio P-180 and Cirrus charter aircraft. Prior to charter operations, Brett focused on flight instruction accumulating over 1,500 hours in various types of aircraft. He has a BS in Elementary Education from Nebraska Wesleyan University and taught fourth grade for four years before pursuing his passion in aviation. Bret enjoys the aviation industry and is looking forward to sharing it with his son, Cooper Jet.
Mr. Mark WaldonDirector of Maintenance
Mr. Mark E. Waldon is the Director, Maintenance. Mr. Waldon is responsible for the daily leadership of the maintenance department, liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration and providing maintenance oversight for PlaneSmart! Aviation, LLC part 91 and 135 aircraft fleet.
Mr. Waldon has an extensive resume in aviation management and began his career in aviation in 1979 with E-Systems, Inc. where he served mainly in Quality Control in support of secret and top secret military surveillance aerial platforms and numerous off-site programs. In his most recent experience, Mr. Waldon served as Director, Maintenance for Ameristar Jet Charter for approximately 11 years prior to joining PlaneSmart! Mr. Waldon has also held management positions with Raytheon Aircraft Company and AMR World Wide Flight Operations. His knowledge, experience and expertise in Part 91 and 135 Operations plus his extensive knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations provides a great benefit to PlaneSmart! as we continue to grow in fleet size as well as into larger and more complex aircraft.
Mr. Waldon attended Shields Aviation Academy and holds a Airframe and Power plant License. Mr. Waldon enjoys golf and outdoor activities. He also holds a Commercial Pilot Certificate for Single and Multi-Engine aircraft with an Instrument Rating.
Jamie KingClient Services
Jamie’s background in aviation started five years ago working as an aviation electrician, specializing as a 2M repair tech, working on circuit cards and wire cables associated with F-18’s and C-130’s in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. She found her way into general aviation and first joined the PlaneSmart! staff as a Customer Service Representative, then later transferring into the Accounting Department. Currently, she works as our Chief Addison Scheduler. She looks forward to assisting you with any aviation need you might have.
Tracy MancinelliClient Services
Tracy is responsible for ongoing support as a Client Services Representative in our Austin and Houston markets. She acts as a liaison for clients, making sure the lines of communication continue to always remain open. Outstanding client services is an integral part of the PlaneSmart! Aviation philosophy and Tracy is dedicated to maintain this quality and service to exceed customer expectations. Tracy comes to us with a background in politics. Prior to working for PlaneSmart!, Tracy worked as a Legislative Aide in state government and on several political campaigns. Her passion for aviation comes from growing up in a home with a father who was an executive with American Airlines for more than 30 years.

Nick grew up in an aviation family. He started flying at 15 and soloed at 16 to soon received his private pilot’s license. He started his aviation career in Youngstown Ohio, working as a line service manager and a shop helper. Later He moved to avionics sales and training. Shortly after receiving his Multi Engine Commercial License he flew corporately in a King Air 350. Then moved on to fly for Continental Connection in Beech 1900 D’s and Dash 8’s. His previous job was working as a government contractor Flying B350’s doing Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Nick came to Texas in 2010 to be the Lead Instructor pilot for his previous company, while still deploying overseas. Nick has accumulated over 4500 hours in multi engine turbine aircraft, and has a true passion for aviation. His Love of corporate aviation brought Him to PlaneSmart! in October 2014. He currently flies the Piaggio Avanti.
Mr. Craig DowPilot
Craig joined PlaneSmart! Aviation in 2015 as a pilot in the Falcon 20 and Piper Meridian. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA degree from the University of Dallas. While Craig has been an active pilot since the age of 17, his first career was in the Information Technology field where he served as Director of Corporate IT for a global metals manufacturing and distribution company. Craig holds an ATP certificate with type ratings in the Falcon 10 and 20, and has accumulated over 2700 hours of flight time. He also owns a Mooney 231 and is an active volunteer pilot with Angel Flight South Central, having flown over 260 patient transport missions since 1993. Craig resides in Arlington, Texas with his wife, Lois.
Lily AllishClient Services
Lily has joined our team in the Client Services Department in the Addison location in January 2015. She has been a part of the aviation world since she was little—having a father as a private pilot and close family friends actively involved in the commercial airline industry. Lily spent her childhood home-schooled across from the small Air Park Runway in Plano where her father owned two Cessnas. Although she isn’t a pilot, traveling is one of her many passions. Feel free to shoot her a call at the front desk or email any request!
Wesley Mead has been a member of Planesmart since June 2015. His passion is aviation and helping to share with others to spread the same passion. Wesley is a CFI, CFII, commercial SEL and MEL pilot that trains and charters the Cirrus fleet. He also has an extensive background in aviation college education in which he attended TSTC in Waco, and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University for his BS degree. He is excited to help the Planesmart team grow and help teach others how to fly these exciting aircraft.

Mr. John JohnsonFlight Department Admin
John Johnson works with the Operations and Maintenance Departments in order to ensure PlaneSmart! flight operations run as smoothly as possible. He previously worked as an Aviation Assistant for an EMS operator in Salt Lake City, Utah. He brings a great deal of experience in providing support to both sides of the flight department. He is an instrument rated pilot and is currently attending school full time to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Administration.
